Swim Team Research Paper

I have been on a swim team since I was four years old. My involvement in the sport has grown from swimming in a recreation league in the summer, to swimming year round for a travel swim club. Swimming has taught me the strength of overcoming difficulties, time managment, and giving maximum effort, to name only a few skills. I hope to continue my involvemnt in the sport in college next year. Being part of a collegiate swim team will not only provide me with the strong support of a team, but also an outlet to express my passions. Swimming in college would force me to be a better student, further developing the time managment skills I already have.
I am also involved in my high school's Interact club, which is a rotary club dedicated to volunteering

The swimming pools, in “The Swimmer”, represent Neddie’s journey down the road to addiction and the consequences that his dependency has on his life and body. Neddie’s state of mind as he begins his addiction is described, “He had an inexplicable contempt for men who did not hurl themselves into pools. […] To be embraced and sustained by the light green water was less a pleasure, it seemed, than the resumption of a natural condition,” (Cheever, 777). Neddie describes the feeling that drinking alcohol gives him as though he is returning to some raw state of being. The swimming pools themselves are a man-made attempt to provide nature within a suburban setting that is lacking.…

For my mathematical exploration paper, I have decided to base it on the topic of swimming as it can be affiliated with many mathematical components. However, I was profoundly interested in determining the optimal kicking angle as it caught my recognition. As I further explored this topic, I decided to endeavour to connect a swimmer’s water movement with the quantity of water being pushed around against the flow. As a swimmer myself, I was greatly interested in determining the optimal angle to kick in order to enhance my swimming.…

6 months ago, I never would have imagined I’d be signing with the Assumption Swim Team. Shortly after I joined Executive Swim Club during sophomore year, I had a conversation with my new coach, Brian Crawford, about possible schools I could swim for in college. He advised me with many great options, but when he mentioned Assumption, I couldn’t take him seriously. I told him that I wasn’t of that caliber of swimming, but he refused. He simply told me to keep up the good work, because it would pay off in the end.…

Throughout high school, I have been involved in many activities. I started off with the STEM academy in my high school. In the STEM academy, we held special events that teach people, especially kids, about new experiments and science-related careers. I helped out the STEM academy by explaining people about the experiments, the purpose behind the experiments and cleaned or organized lab equipment. I was a part of the STEM academy for approximately three years in high school and I really enjoyed it because I knew I could make a difference in my community.…

I’ve always been a strong swimmer; I’ve always been determined and a believer, but I can't say I had ever thought about winning state. I was twelve years old in the summer of 2015, which turned out to be one of the most important and eventful summers of my life. I woke up on Thursday morning at 6:00, ready to start the first day of my state meet. The meet would take place at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wisconsin; lasting a full four days, starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday. On Thursday I would swim one event, Friday one more, and on Saturday and Sunday I would have two each.…

A Few Essential Diet Tips for Triathletes While swimming requires you to spend considerable energy, triathlon calls for a lot of it because triathlon typically requires you to take part in three consecutive activities at a stretch. Becoming a collegiate student athlete would make all the difference in my college experience and career following that. Hi, I’m that reckless teenage girl your mom and dad always told you would get you injured, the one that believes if they go over 100mph down that straightaway in Idaho there will be no consequences, the one that doesn’t listen to the “NO DIVING” warning on the side of the pool since ‘she knows how to swim’, and the one that doesn’t realize until she’s 17 years old that you can’t survive every injury you obtain. Speed is my weakness, if its quads, dirt bikes, cars, or bicycles I always want to go faster. A few years ago my family had multiple sport quads which I would go way faster than I ever should have in the space I was riding them in, (a little over three acres of wooded trails.) My dad and I decided to finish off the night by racing through one of the major loops that we have. As a super competitive person in sports I was flying through the trails, I came down the hill faster than I should have since there was a sharp corner at the end.…
