I can smell the hairspray and the badly washed perms. Girls with bright colored scrunchies skip side by side. Everyone seems carefree and unworried, it doesn't make any sense. Two AWESOME workouts with Sharon Stewart today! The last ten months have truly changed my life. She has pushed me further than I ever thought possible. I've gone from thinking "too" skinny looked good, to wanting to be fit and healthy. I've gone from thinking I can get away with using light weights to hearing her "yell" at me in my mind, or not getting low enough for a squat.…

As Jenny carried the last box of clothes from her dorm room to her car, a wave of excitement ran through her body. It was officially summer. There were no classes or tests and most importantly, no more Chartwells. After a two-hour drive filled with Mcdonald’s stops and obnoxiously loud singing, she finally saw the long driveway that she knew so well. Being too excited to bother with unpacking her car, she grabbed her fish, who somehow managed to survive for two years, and sprinted up to the front door.…

Walking into work on Sunday morning I feel prepared for the hours ahead of me. This feeling completely diminishes throughout the week as Saturday night comes around. Working during the day has a completely different set of challenges than what is needed when working an eventful night. I believe that volunteering expands horizons and allows individuals to experience different environments and situations. It shows who you are as a person and reflects the positive character traits you have. Relay for life is a life-changing event that allows everyone in communities across the globe to come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and help fight back. Relay for life has allowed me to encounter many people who all share a common purpose — to support the American Cancer Society's mission. This event made me realize that everyone can make a difference and that every person counts.…
