Over spring break, I took a trip to Swaziland, Africa. One of the days I was there, I went on a safari ride. The people in my group and I were a little nervous about the ride just because there are some huge, scary animals out there. The first thing our tour guide said to us was, “Don’t worry about it, the safari car is very safe and the animals are used to people coming through here.” The car was pretty big, seating our whole group plus an experienced driver. It had four tall doors and a few metal bars going up the side of the roof. There wasn’t any netting around the outside of the truck, which made us a little nervous. I sat on the edge of the truck, closest to the fence and farthest away from the rhino. I looked back at him and saw that he had a deathly stare in his eye as he was still coming at us. I jumped onto the hard ground from the truck door and started running faster than I had ever ran before. I could hear the rhino behind me and felt his monstrous steps. The fence was only a little ways away from me now and I thought I could make it. I kept running and running and running until the fence got as close as possible. I flailed myself upward into the air. I grasped the fence, but as I started climbing the rhino had caught on to the bottom of my jeans with his teeth. I was kicking and flailing everywhere, but the rhino was determined to make me his meal. Finally I kicked him hard, square in the face. He released my pant leg and stumbled back a little bit. It was just enough time for me to throw myself over the top of the fence. I landed on the ground and turned around to look at the rhino one last time. He ran up to the fence and tried kicking it, anxiously wanting to get out. I took a deep breath, realizing that I was safe and turned to go find help for the
