Swamp Fox Research Paper

I never thought I would push myself beyond my expectations until the day I wanted to become a Swamp Fox. Swamp Fox is a special forces organization at the college I currently attend, Marion Military Institute, which teaches its inducted cadets small unit tactics, techniques, and procedures. I knew it was not going to be easy to be inducted but I also knew that by doing so I would push myself to become a part of a brotherhood that would enlighten me. Of course I did not know exactly what to expect, I just wanted to maintain my grades and my health as those are the two most important things keeping me eligible for an appointment at West Point. I came into cycle with little to no information, but one thing I had heard is that the buddy bear crawl had made quite a few people quit over the years. They told us to buddy up. I picked someone about my size and chose to go first between the two of us. The buddy bear crawl consists of one person lying on the ground “dead”. In this iteration, we would be on the end of a football field and have to take our “buddy” all the way to the other side. I did not know it yet, but my training would pay off. My buddy laid on the ground. As I got down, they put their arms around my neck. The exercise started. I pushed forward as the wet grass began to soak my shoes and get in my socks. I did my best to maintain a steady pace and take as little breaks as possible. After staring at the ground for 30 minutes, I looked up. I had finally made it.
