Introduction
There are a large number of factors that come into play when dealing with the subject of the Sutherland Differential Association Theory. The first issue that will be covered in respects to the actual theory itself is the historical foundation of the theory, which is the basis for how the theory came into being in the criminal justice community. This essentially means through the use of collaboration with others in the person’s environment he or she is around most of his or her life, then that how the habit of criminal behavior is picked up. Over a lifetime a person can experience quiet a lot of different things. These certain events can potentially scar a person altering them to be a completely different person. This can be better explained through the use of two examples. The first example is if a child felt substandard during his or her childhood then there would be a larger possibility that same child may go all-out for superiority as an adult. Another Example would be if someone had worked an entire lifetime to achieve something very prestigious, and finally received it. On the other hand, someone else was working on the same goal and achieved it through less work and much less time it had taken the first person. These two examples both shared similar likenesses, one was treated a certain way, so this inspired a new behavior to come about from this individual. The other individual had worked so hard to achieve something and finally received it and the other individual had gotten the same award
