The new venture is a restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine. Name of this new venture is “Suswad”. Suswad is situated in the heart of Virginia Beach. The word “Suswad” is a Sanskrit word which means “Good taste”. Suswad serves pure vegetarian Indian cuisine in Indian style in an ambience similar to restaurants in India. In India, large population are vegetarian. Thus, there are many delicious vegetarian dishes popular in India. Suswad prepares Indian vegetarian dishes in Indian style, by Indian cooks. In Indian dishes, a variety of vegetables and used. There are 20-30 basic spices used in Indian cuisines. Indian dishes can be spicy, sour, sweet and hot, all at the same time. So, it needs to understand laws and regulations prevailing in those cities, and prepare to comply with the laws. It should also prepare to protect itself from possible lawsuits from customers who may fall ill after dining at Suswad. A restaurant needs various approvals. Suswad needs to ensure that required approvals are taken and renewed on time. Trend shows that laws and regulations are increasingly becoming strict. Suswad should prepare itself for more strict laws and regulations, and bear the additional cost incurred in complying with new laws. Strict laws also offer opportunity to improve quality of products and services. Suswad should exploit this opportunity to improve brand image.

Organizational Structure Suswad is a small restaurant with no branch as of now. It has adopted organic organizational culture which allows the employees to freely interact with each other, form teams without considering hierarchy, and work together to achieve organizational goals. The organic organizational structure improves employee’s productivity, promotes innovation and team work. (Nieuwenhuizen, 2008) For a small size business, organic structure is very effective. Organic structure contributed to Suwad’s success. As it opens new branches and grows in size, organic structure may not remain the best option. People from Indian subcontinent are also an important target customer segment. Being a pure vegetarian restaurant, Suswad targets vegans also. The tourists coming from other cities are also potential customers, but they are small market segment.

Suswad will standardize the products and services. Suswad has also standardized the way customers will be received, attended, asked for feedback, their concerns will be addressed. Suswad will use a combination of communication tools such as word of mouth, advertising in local newspapers, posters, banners, hoardings, distributing pamphlets, website, social media, geographical targeting through Google Adsense etc to communicate to target customers are other stakeholders.

In initial year of operation, fund will be required for paying rent of restaurant, interior design, maintaining ambience, paying salary to staffs, paying for raw materials, payment to get licenses, marketing expenses etc. The promoters will provide initial financing from their personal savings. Friends and families will also provide some financing. Suswad will also need long-term loan and financing by venture
