Experience in mainland China
I was born in a small county in Guangdong called SunHing. When I was small, I lived in a small village which people mainly sell different agricultural products to earn money. Villagers will wake up early and walk to the town to sell their products so that they can earn a little bit more. Most of the villagers are farmer who raising crops and livestock, and just few people work in a company in town. The bus is the only transportation we have to connect to the town, but the bus just arrived four times a day so we will go to the town by riding bicycle or on foot. And the main different of the livelihood between rural China and Hong Kong is the eating routine, when I live in the village, our family enjoy the dinner at 6 p.m. while now we have dinner at around 9p.m. in Hong Kong. If the worker is being fired, no matter how high the income is, he or she will have no asset to achieve the minimal standard of living and their will start facing difficulties in life. So, I think the most important thing is to stabilize their job first and then start increases their income through increase the local minimum wage. If everyone has a stable job, they can earn the money continuously, and they are able to provide the asset for their child to receive education. If the children can get the opportunities for education, the poor family will have the chance to break the inter-generational poverty
