Sustainability In Hawaii “Praying really helps, because I never thought I’d see this day. I’d just like to thank the Ching Foundation for helping us so much” (Legacy, 97) This quote was said by Marynoll School’s Athletic director. This quote inspires me to make a change in Hawaii, because I want to help others like Mr. Ching. Mr. Ching’s Foundation has helped to build Marynoll’s gym. The foundation has also helped many schools in Hawaii, such as Sacred Hearts. The foundation has given our school a wonderful dance studio. This quote helped me to realize that when you pray, you still have hope. Mr. Ching’s foundation has given Hawaii a better chance to help the needy and help improve schools. Sustainability is a very big problem in Hawaii. We are dependent on many non-renewable resources. I want to make Hawaii sustainable, I want us to start using more reusable resources. Mr. Ching inspires me to make this change because his actions to making Hawaii a better place for the future inspires me to do the same. I want the future generations to have a future just like how I want to have mine’s. The chance to still use gas, oil, eat fish, and many more.
