Sushi Roll Steps

Improved Essays
I think I did well at explaining the steps for the students to follow during my speech. Since, my speech is about how to make a sushi roll, it is important for the students to understand what do they need to prepare in order to make a good sushi roll. I used the simple words for my steps, so everyone could understand every steps I taught them. Also, I think I did good at interacting with the students. I begin my speech by asking the students a question and they all participated it. It was a good transition to begin my speech. While, I am making the sushi roll, I keep talking to the students what I am doing because I want to avoid the awkwardness of silence.

In order to get a smooth speech, I have to really understanding my topic, so I do not need to rely on looking at my notecards at all the time. I know that public speaking needs practice, so the more I practice, the better I will get. I had accomplished the two goal that I made for my Self-Introduction speech. My volume in this speech was pretty good and I am sure that everyone could hear it. I felt a little nervous at this time, but that did not lower my volume. Also, the structure of my speech had improved too because I taught the audience step by step and they all follow it. For this speech, everything was doing better than the last speech that I presented. The two goals that I have to improve on my next speech are my usage of words and time management. Even though, I use the simple words for my speech, I need to present more clearly and everyone should know what I am talking about. I should use some better transition words to help myself out throughout the speech. Also, the usage of time should be around the requirement time, so I have to practice more and more in order to know at where I have to said this or do

After presenting and completing my visual informative speech, there were several strengths and weaknesses present throughout my speech. Some of my strengths, with respect to the content of the speech as I did my visual presentation, was that I did a good job with the introduction. The introduction involved introducing my topic and grabbing the attention of my audience. Also, I had great supporting materials and most importantly great organization of my main points. As for the delivery aspect of my speech, according to the video, I had a good posture and used my flash cards very well, which were very helpful in delivering my speech.…

Ulises Gonzalez 2nd Self-Critique In general, I felt the presentation went well, but after reviewing the video, there are a number of areas I need to improve. First of all, I started well because I presented myself to the audience, I did not have my hands in my pockets, and I was not playing around with my hands, so the first part went really well in general. The presentation was well explained, but it could have been more developed and interesting. The organization was well structured since it addressed everything it was supposed to, but it could have been better because the presentation used the ideas of the paper, and I did not implement new ones.…

My video seemed to be clear enough, the audio was not as good as I had hoped. I am proud I finally got the laptop to work with me and stayed relatively calm during the ordeal. I tried to get the audience in front of me as much as I could, since I do not have a classroom available to me. Overall, I think I have improved some from my "Just Bag It" speech. 2.…

It probably could have made my speech better and would have been easier to work on my body language. (3) Repeating words. Since I didn’t have an outline with me on stage, I was basing my entire speech off my memory. When I was giving my presentation, I didn’t realize that I was repeating some words or sentences over and over. For example, “we wanted to visit him.…

Delivering the Pet Peeve speech was on the whole a relaxed and enjoyable experience. When the assignment was first issued, I felt a bit reluctant to deliver the speech; I’m only friends with a handful of students in the class, and probably disliked by the rest, so I couldn’t be confident in having a receptive audience. Due to my previous experience public speaking during coffee houses however, my apprehension was easily surmountable. I believe these types of opportunities to perform in front of a crowd on a limited scale are an excellent skill builder for affairs later in life, be it an impromptu toast at a dinner party, or reciting your wedding vows. As far as preparation goes, my approach was casual: I practiced delivering my speech two or three times on a timer, doing my best to fall within 10 seconds of the 3 minute mark.…

It was the Thursday before my speech that I was finally was able to get all the materials for my SHIELD, where I began work on my SHIELD. I hadn’t exactly thought everything out before I began work that night, so there were a few rough patches. First of all, all I knew is that I wanted to have a soccer ball shield. I also went on a trip with my family on Saturday and Sunday, so I couldn’t really start my SHIELD until Sunday night. This was extremely unfortunate because my SHIELD required more work than I planned on.…

After noticing the speaker’s confidence during the speech, it became clear that his calmness and ability to speak clearly, his ability to refer to his notes and to use the power point at the same time and also his ability to ensure he was the source of the information he was giving made his delivery good. This informative speech could have been improved with more body movement during the transitions and a good eye contact with the…

You are in class one day when the teacher announces a new assignment: students are to research and give an informative speech about any topic of their choosing. As the student, imagine that you are terrified to not only present the speech in front of your entire class, but to have to go through the process of picking a topic, researching it, organizing your speech, and practicing it as well. At the beginning of my communication class, this was how I felt about producing and giving speeches. I was nervous to talk in front of the class because I have always been very shy and have suffered from extreme speech apprehension. I also dreaded picking a topic and organizing my speeches as well, since I could never make up my mind and I was never good…

overall I believe that my presentation went very well. This is because of the visuals used, the examples I presented, the tone of the presentation, and my overall knowledge of the subject. Using the feedback summary that I got from my students, I can safely say that my presentation was very successful. However, there are a few key areas of the presentation that I would improve for future use, and there are also a few things that I would do to make the application experience better for all participants. Firstly, I believe that my presentation went well because of the visuals that I used.…

However, I personally felt nervous as I was talking. This was reinforced by feedback I received which said “you seemed slightly nervous at first but then as confidence grew the teaching became increasingly better.” I felt this was due to a lack of preparation and could have easily been resolved by practice and repetition. Also, next time I will prepare some notes to prompt me and to ensure I do not forget to mention any important details the students may…

Reflection About Classroom Teaching Experience Being an educator is a challenge and a new learning experience each time. As an educator, I am entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the way students think and feel in the classroom. I have always wanted to be an educator and share my experiences with the new generation of nurses. When I was assigned to work with professor Lynette Rayman to do my classroom teaching experience, I was thrilled because the topic I chose was chronic kidney disease which also happens to be my area of expertise. Throughout the course, I learned different aspects of project management, and skills that can be used in the everyday life as long as involve interacting with other people. In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different. It made it easier for each of us to better understand one another in how our unique personalities can be a challenge when working with others.…

I sometimes get nervous about what people are thinking about my speech when I am giving it but if I don’t judge people from the audience then I will have the mindset when I am on stage that people from the audience are not judging me. Lastly, I think that I will be able to get up in front of people and give a speech without getting extremely nervous. I haven’t had much experience with speaking in front of big groups but hopefully by the end of this semester I will be very good at it without having any nervous feelings if someone asked me to give a public…
