Susanne's Bakery

Susanne,

I enjoyed reading your week 3 discussion forum post regarding your concept of Susanne’s Bakery and Café and exactly who will be your target market. I have to say, I find the aspect of your concept that caters to the special dietary needs of the consumers with celiac disease, gluten allergies, diabetes, and those seeking organic options is extremely necessary. I am not personally that type of consumer, however I have friends and family member who have a truly hard time dining out. For example, my sister-in-law ordered a gluten-free entrée from a restaurant and not more than an hour later had broken out in a rash, because of what I assume was cross contamination at a restaurant that does not normally cater to special dietary needs

CFA is also a Christian based company, and is very public about its beliefs; In fact it is the basis for which they attribute their success, and excellence.…

Cultural Context While the location of the audience, in Benton and Upper Lane County, is important for the purpose of access to Turpen Family Farm’s physical location, the purpose of this campaign is to target a specific subculture in which members value healthy lifestyles. The first norm of this group is the value of local products. They often shop at health food stores and farmers market to meet their desire for healthy, fresh and organic produce and farm products; in this same vein is the value of products and foods that are “natural”. Turpen Family Farm already sells eggs and produce at both health food stores and farmers markets, already using the healthy and local display for their products. Current analysis of Farm Boy reveals the considerations facing the company in providing direction to future marketing decisions. In their microenvironment, Farm Boy faces a high-level of reliance on their produce suppliers. Anticipation of environmental disasters like floods or droughts may impact FB’s margins or force higher prices; however, FB’s efforts to consistently maintain strong relations with their local suppliers may mitigate the effects of this. Furthermore, a positive public perception of FB is critical to uphold, and validates continuous efforts to create an unmatched customer experience with their brand. In addition, factors facing FB in their macroenvironment include a shift in the size of Canadian households, more working mothers, and urban migration indicating the need for larger food retailers in urban areas.…
