There were seven artists involved in the creation of FABRICation: Erin E. Castellan, Kristy Deetz, Virginia Derryberry, Reni Gower, Rachel Hayes, Susan Iverson, and Natalie Smith. The three works I have chosen to discuss in this review are all works of Susan Iverson.
Susan Iverson is a recently retired professor of Craft/Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has earned an MFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and a BFA from Colorado State University-Fort Collins. She has also received several prestigious awards and grants, including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and a Virginia Museum of Fine Art Fellowship.
