Roseville, CA — Susan (Gilbert) Halop, died Monday the 11th of May, 2015, surrounded by her children, Lisa, Adam and Zachary and several grandchildren, after a long illness. Originally from Cropseyville, NY, Susan was born in Samaritan Hospital, Troy, NY, January 25, 1937, to Robert and Eleanor Gilbert. Susan lived in and around Troy until age 18, graduating from Troy High in 1954, when she met and married Joel T. Halop, moving soon after to Maryland and many other places around the world, including France, Guam and Hawaii during the course of their 50 year marriage. Once she raised her children, she returned to nursing school, earned her RN degree and worked as a nurse at Barstow Community Hospital in Barstow, CA. She and Joel retired to Santa
