However, there are a couple of faults that counteract with that statement. Teachers are only to give information from what the district provided them, which of course comes from the American Education System. Teachers were not supposed to explain and lecture about anything else that could help the students in the future, rather only focus on what the class was mainly intended for. Susan even mentioned within her article, “Teachers are less likely to encourage questions, tinkering, or deviations from the script when they feel pressure to accomplish goals that might not leave time for questions, tinkering, or deviations the script.” If that weren’t enough information, Susan then explained, “Teachers were instead subtly encouraged to help students finish a worksheet, they were more likely to discourage children’s investigations.” That indisputably proves that the system made sure that teachers were to only encourage their students to work and focus on worksheets and studying, rather than asking multiple questions about anything that comes to mind. Teaching students to speak up and to participate without worry. To see kids playing but only when told and asking questions that were not from their imagination, but from what they seem to believe that the teachers would accept. With finally showing proof that teachers would not want to encourage, for they themselves are being pressured to only teach what they are mainly paid to do. This is important for the reason to be because the system needs to pull back and understand the students thoughts and not subjugated them to only be empty bodies who’s main purpose is to follow orders and never question their instructor. Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning, however, it may never be lit if the flame was never there to begin
