Susan B Anthony Leadership Qualities

Vision, passion, integrity, three qualities of a great leader. Think: Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader; Susan B. Anthony, a women's rights activist; Winston Churchill, prime minister of Great Britain. These are just a few of the world leaders with these amazing qualities. A leader’s vision should be like taking a glimpse into the future. Although Martin Luther King Jr. died at a young age his leadership in the racial civil rights movements will always be a part of history. Kings vision for racial equality motivated many others throughout the U.S. to strive for the same thing. Without Martin’s vision in his life, that subsequently affected others visions, many pieces of the long road to equality may still not be solved today. John Doe is applying for a job at Large Co., a massive, booming business in upstate New York. John goes into the interview well dressed and on time, but when asked where he thinks he will be in ten years it all goes downhill. Mr. Doe was never called back for the job because he had no vision for his future or the future of the business. Can someone truly be a good leader if they don’t have a vision? Susan B. Anthony was a large part of the fight for women’s rights. Without Susan’s passion for gender equality, women may never have had a great push for their rights. If a leader isn’t passionate the attitude they exude will mirror that. The team will reflect whatever the leader feels, so if the leader is full of passion and energy, the team will be too. Viceversa, if a leader is tired and unpassionate the team will be as well. Passion is a strong and uncontrollable emotion usually directed towards something. A great leader should have and unbridled passion for what they love and should be able to easily fill others with that same passion and
