Survival Essay In order to survive, people have gone to great lengths to survive. People have been known to drink their own urine, when they aren’t lucky at finding water, eating raw meat, and fruits that have a chance of being poisonous. If you want to take a more gruesome path, people have gone to cannibalism, or even eating their own body parts. In the movie “The Good Lie” is a movie about the “Lost Boys” of Sudan, which is located in Africa. In the movie the the characters lost their family in a surprise attack by the African soldiers. When the soldiers raided the small village, the characters mother and father get killed by the soldiers. The now orphans make their way to Kenya, but unfortunately they lose two brothers. One died of dehydration and the other told a good lie to keep the soldiers from taking the second eldest brother. Once they get to Kenya they go to a refugee camp, and stay there for 13 years. Until they get to go to America, because they got lucky. Towards the end of the movie, the second eldest brother goes to Kenya to find Theo, the one that got taken. You have most likely seen shows that have people trying to survive in the forest or island. Some are real footage, scripted, and telling a story of a survivor. No matter the fact they are all decent shows to watch. Many can give you ideas on how to survive if you watch the people and what they are doing to survive. You will see them looking for water in the ground, hunting animals, building small tents, making fire and treating their wounds. On some cases shows tell the story of a person surviving unimaginable conditions. Like 9/11, a plane crash on an island, trying to find water in a desert, or even surviving natural disasters. The scripted shows are more dramatic in my point of view, they are very over exaggerated at times, but they are still
