I want to make many logos arguments in my case, to appeal better to college students. I also will have a slight appeal to emotion, when talking about all the lives lost in the attacks on September 11th to remind people why we have more surveillance. This emotional appeal will supplement my argument admirably, when delivering my speech. My thesis for this paper is as follows, the National Security Association surveillance programs should be continued because safety outweighs a violation of the fourth amendment. Logic will be the forefront of my argument in the beginning. It is important in this debate to provide an overwhelming amount of logic as you are dealing with peoples rights. The logos arguments will help the audience decide on their position, if I can point to specific results that the NSA is able to stop attacks it will help my case. Emotional appeals will not be as useful, but I will utilize one specific one when talking about the victims of terrorist attacks. I can provide a specific example of a family destroyed by terrorist attacks, and how the government has failed them in protection.
