Before beginning its important to understand what a Surgical Site Infection actually means.

A Surgical Site Infection means that when an individual has had surgery, this means that either the skin, or the wound around the area of incision or the muscle and tissue underneath the area where the surgery was performed has become infected.

When an infection occurs, it's possible to visually see that there is cause for concern when there is presence of redness, fever, pain, tenderness, warmth, and possible swelling can also
