Simulation is not technology but it is a technique that is used to replace or supplement real life experiences in an interactive way (Gaba, 2004). A simulation based method of education in the nurse clinical setting improves student learning enhances confidence and communication skills in learners, aids in recruitment and retention of nursing in the clinical setting, while protecting patient safety by allowing the learner to fine tune skills in a realistic setting before they must apply them to the patient (Mullen & Byrd, 2013).
