Surgery Informative Speech

Well Today officially marks my 1 year surgversary (aka the day I had my surgery). In honor of this special day Here's a story of how everything happened. I was diagnosed at around the age of 6? With mitral valve prolapse (aka my valves weren't closing properly). I was also born with pectus excavatum (aka my rib cage sunk in). I continued living with these issues for the next 22 years. I went from doctor to doctor ,appointment to appointment. Did test after test. I was removed from PE every year because I was having a hard time keeping up with the physical demand because my body couldn't handle it. It was as though god himself was speaking to me and telling me to trust him.At this point the doubt in my mind went away and I knew I was in good hands. Fast forward to December 2nd, 2014 surgery day I'm now 23. I was referred to LA keck hospital where I would be getting double surgery To repair my valves (Mitral&tricuspid) and my pectus. I was nervous but I was ready I knew god was going to take care of me. My surgery took a total of 6 hours, hospital stay 9 days, recovery time 3 long months. Recovery was tough but I was tougher :) it's officially a1 year and I'm happy I say to that I am healed. I am no longer out of breath, my palpitations aren't as as frequent and my X-ray is badass because I have two metal bars across my chest to correct my pectus aka I'm wolverine. I'm true a testament of what The Lord can do and I have a beautiful scar to remind everyday of what I have endured. I will forever be grateful for this gift that I have been given and to my wonderful family& friends who have helped me along the
