The first piece of art I analyzed was the Suprematist Painting ( 8 Red Rectangles). This painting was created in 1919 in Russia. This artwork was created by Kazimir Malevich and was used to experiment with the effects of a bird’s eye view of art and the shapes of the earth. 8 Red Rectangles us considered art to me because I believe Malevich has intent to create a deeper, more astrological thought process within those who see the art. The composition of this piece is used to echo pictures of the earth that have been captured from the sky. Zurich created an intricate pattern of squares and rectangles intertwined by a black border surround the colored squares. Zurich uses vertical and horizontal lines to create a distraction from the underlying pattern created by the connection of the squares. Zurich uses this is create a distraction for people, he tends to create some kind of confusion within the mind. This is considered art to me because Zurich has created a way to interpret his work using life skills we have learned through our education and math history. By creating a distraction for people using the thick black borders it allows us to use our minds to interpret the underlying meaning within the art
