My first belief is that the way that the teacher sets up and runs the classroom is key to maximum amount of learning for the students. In order to do this, I will set my classroom up in groups or tables instead of rows. This will help build a community between my students and I, as well as, my students with each other so that they will feel comfortable enough to have a discussion about topics and expand their knowledge without relying on me for information to be memorized instead of internalized. My second belief is that students should not be as quickly “diagnosed” with learning disabilities as they are, just because they don’t do as well in school as other students. There are many other factors that apply that could be the reason for students to do poorly in class.…

Two of the Effective Educator Goals that I have chosen to provide rationale on are, Manages & Motivates and Reflects on Practice. I feel very strongly that most students, when given a positive, encouraging, and nurturing learning environment, can motivate themselves to be socially interactive and engaged in their own education. When students see your positive energy, feel your desire to learn, and know they are an asset to your classroom; most often will put forth the effort to be an active participant. I have had differentiated environments to meet the needs of certain individuals to promote a supportive and meaningful environment that was conducive to learning.…

Wide spectrum of abilities: Having a inclusive class with a wide range of children and abilities could also cause a problem when supporting learning activities, ensuring that all children are engaged, involved and fully understand the task that has been set. This can be dealt with by splitting the children in to ability based groups and providing the appropriate work for each group and setting achievable targets. By encouraging the higher ability children to help those struggling will help keep the class working at a similar pace.…

You are developing these students, minds, senses, social skills, reasoning skills, and so much more. I would like to create this safe space students need and find ways to always meet the needs of every single student. As stated in the InTASC Model Core Teacher Standards, Standard 3 addresses Learning Environments. The standard states: “The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.” To me, the classroom environment is one of the most important things that can impact the student’s ability to learn and allow them to feel comfortable within their own classroom. I believe that it is extremely important to form a relationship with your students, and get to know each one of them before you can effectively educate them. By getting to know your students, you are not only getting to know them, but you are also…
