Supporting Narrative In April 2015, I applied for experiential learning credits towards my Bachelor of Science degree in the Office Administration and Technology program. As a result, I earned three credits for ACED 2940 Basic Admin Office Skills and four credits for ACED 3940 Intermediate Admin Office Skills. Once again, I will demonstrate how work experience, technical skills, and personal development have provided me with college-level learning. This year will mark my ninth year working full-time for a local government agency as an administrative assistant and recording-secretary. For the last several years, my role has broadened beyond clerical and administrative duties. My role now performs increasingly complex duties that demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, …show more content…
In addition, I may not have had the best grades back then due to life taking precedence, but I did not let that hinder my commitment to completing my educational goals. By far, this experience has not only been phenomenal, but has exceeded all my expectations. I more confident and even have a VSU GPA of 3.9 through hard work and determination and I could not be prouder. Who would have thought my second attempt would bring the most satisfaction, especially with the support of family, friends, and exceptional professors at Valdosta State University. Overall, I believe that I have shown great growth and competency through my work experience since 2015 to earn two additional credits for ACED 3940 Intermediate Office Admin Skills. This is also demonstrated in the documents uploaded to the OAT-OBC Outcomes Assessments in BlazeView. Receiving these credits will fulfill my guided elective requirement and bring me closer to achieving my long time goal of graduating this summer and transitioning into a higher level
