Support groups have been increasing over time, and have been shown to effectively help individuals who need to relate their problems to others, in an environment which is non-judgmental. This type of group is helpful when people want to talk to others, and they do not have family, or may not wish to burden their family with their specific concerns. Support groups designed for women suffering with HIV, has been shown to be advantageous with disclosure of a sensitive issue, while allowing women to speak without fear of being rejected and stigmatized (Paudel & Baral, 2015).
