consideration the outstanding conditions surrounding this aisle and the products on it to adjust accordingly. It could be something as simple as using data to see what coffee sells best in each season, or it could be more in depth looking into what brands sell best among which demographic population. There are even some organizations that go so far as to look at what time of day or outside weather conditions affect sales. The goal for Target in gathering and analyzing this data is that through it each coffee aisle in each Target location would be statically proven to have the best selection, price, and product for its target market. When it is collected and used properly, analytic data collection can lead to knowledge about a category and how it sells that would otherwise have been difficult to learn. When it is applied this knowledge then can and should cause category sales to increase and increase customer satisfaction. That in turn adds value to external stakeholders as well because Target can then clean up their supply chain, and have priority on the best possible products, creating a positive relationship with those vendors. …show more content…
Within Target’s coffee aisle there is definite room for improvement. The company should look into ways of making them become more efficient as a whole. There are multiple ways Target can add value to internal and external stakeholders, increase customer satisfaction and increase sales. The company can employ a localization procedure to test statistics of coffee types and to see what types of coffee customers prefer. Localization and personalization would be an easy way to target specific customers. Price harmonization and point-of-purchase would also be a way to successfully implement category management.
