1) Coming from a low-income, Mexican-American family and being a first generation college student, I have struggled to pay for tuition and fees in the past. In high school, I was never told what kinds of financial aid options were available, yet alone how to apply for loans and how they operated. This prompted me to research the vast amount of financial aid offered here at Diablo Valley College. Not only do I know about general financial aid information, but I can provide the necessary assistance to students who either need information or be navigated through the FAFSA. As a DVC financial aid student representative, I will use my prior experience and current knowledge to help those that may need any guidance.
