Supervison: Delegating Care Activities

This model is based on a tool that is used to delegate care activities based on the health care aides’ familiraity, experience and education with the task and on patient needs. Supervision can be done indirectly or directly along side the aide for immediate guidance and feedback. There are four elements of supervison: delegation, direction, guidance, and support (These are defined in detail below). The purpose of this model is designed to assist the development of health care aides within a safe space.
Below, is a general arrangement of the four domians that highlight the varying levels of the domains as dependent on the complexity fof the task and the skill of the aide.
