The three most important points in the information this week exploring supervision theory are the types of supervision, the content areas of supervision, and the cultural competencies in the supervision relationship. The types of supervision: Administrative, Clinical, and Supportive can be use simultaneously at times or individually to ensure the worker receives the information, guidance, and understanding of their client(s) situation through consultation with their superior. This engages the supervisor and supervisee into building a relationship of trust as the supervisor leads the supervisee into helping the client achieve a goal or task as some clients’ situations can be overwhelming to a supervisee. The cultural competencies within supervision refer to intercultural relationships or intracultural relationships within the workplace. Intercultural relationships is when the supervisor and the supervisee are of a different culture due to a relevant characteristic(s) that could pose an issue with differences of opinions if neither party understands the reason for their actions and opinion of the matter due to placing their cultural difference into the disagreement. In an intracultural relationship, the supervisor and supervisee are of the same culture which can give the parties a clearer understanding in regards to their opinions even if their opinions are different. In each one of these three important points, there must be a clear understanding that they go hand in hand when in a supervisory role as a supervisor must have many of the qualities in these points to adequately promote a trusting, knowledgeable, and educated relationship with their …show more content…
I will assess each individual separately as each person will have their own method of how they work, therefore, gauge on if the will need to be micromanaged to maintain their case load up to date, or if the supervision can be somewhat at a distance due to the worker having the ability to complete task timely on their own. I also plan to construct days where the worker can focus on different levels of task they can complete such as paperwork, phone calls, and etc without gaining new being a social worker is a field where it can be rewarding but also very stressful at
