The next phase of the “Hero’s Journey” is the “Supernatural Aid” from characters who provide help and guidance for the hero on his path as they represent the “benign, protective power of destiny” (Ubelhor 3). This aid is usually given by wise old men, gods or messengers in the form of weapons, amulets, magical aids and amulets and their roles are only fully fulfilled after the hero completely trust these helpers and protectors. Batman and Spider-Man are the only ones who have not experienced supernatural aid at all. Another interesting fact is that Spider-Man and Luke Skywalker are the two heroes who, at first, refused the “Call”, but afterwards, after Peter’s uncle and Luke’s uncle’s and aunt were killed, they have a change of heart. Luke is, in the beginning, uninterested in helping the Rebel Alliance and decides to rather stay on the family farm on Tatooine. It is only after the murder of his foster parents when he willingly joins the

What makes him stand out from the rest is that, as Wikipedia states, “unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; rather, he relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, intimidation, and indomitable will.”…
