Are Superman and Batman and all these other superheroes really heroes? Do they help us as a whole? What about our everyday heroes that nobody notices and thanks? First off, heroes are those who make a difference. A hero is strong. For example, Tristan Eugene Segers, lost his leg but he doesn’t want it to change him or the rest of his life. In the article “ Soldier home after losing leg in Afghanistan” the author reveals the attitude of Segers when he writes, “ the loss of a leg changed me but it doesn’t define the rest of my life”(Fiege 58). He still wants to be the person he was before. Heroes fight because they believe we should have independence and freedom. Heroes fight and don’t give up because everyone everyone is counting on them. Heroes are brave. Firefighters go out in the fire to rescue us or when we're stuck they come out and help us. Cops help us when someone has broken into our homes and has a weapon. Our everyday heroes do a lot without us even knowing.

Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass are both examples of heroes..According to Phineas D. Gurley in the article
