Understanding the different ways that one is able to make these tasks meaningful and fulfilling has changed my outlook on how I have approached delineating certain tasks. I had been micromanaging certain projects to ensure they were being ran correctly. By taking a step back and allowing individuals to do their own work they’re not only more productive, but also more inspired and motivated. This is incredibly important considering the work is strictly volunteer and does not provide many of the normal factors to prevent dissatisfaction such as money. Every day he spends time walking around the hospital and seeing if he can possibly help out someone out. Although I also practice servant style leadership, it is interesting to see these different strategies to convey your leadership style to your …show more content…
It is not easy to be both an effective manager and a strong leader at the same time. I feel it is important to note that Perry has achieved both of these titles in the field of healthcare administration despite the fact that his background is in finance and his work experience is primarily with construction firms. This shows that no matter what background you come from, if you apply management skills you’ve learned to the workplace, you can be an effective manager and a strong leader no matter the

In previous assignments, I distinguished between authentic and servant leadership approaches. Authentic leadership focuses on qualities that help leaders to be perceived as trustworthy and believable by their followers (Northouse, 2012). Servant leaders build strong relationships with others by giving followers the support they need, involving them in decisions, and building a sense of…

Charismatic Service: A Leadership Philosophy At the heart of any worthwhile leadership is a genuine concern for the well-being of those who are being led.
