At Superior Health we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction rating, therefore, the facility design needs to be comfortable and inviting. Currently Superior Health is in a transition mode, moving from one location to another. The transition will greatly impact the design of the new facility because the new facility will not have the same negatives of the last facility. All areas of the facility design will be well thought out and will fit the philosophy of the organization. The current facility lacks comfort for the patient and does not allow for the patient to be relaxed. The reason why it is such a priority is because the patient’s first stop is the waiting room. Therefore, if they have a bad experience there, they will most likely carry over that experience to other sectors of the facility. Creating a positive atmosphere in the waiting room will have a ripple effect on the rest of the facility. The seating will be comfortable and relaxing with the seating arrangement in a U or circle arrangement to promote conversations. The seating arrangement will not promote impersonal or a silo atmosphere, however, a positive and happy place. Also, the new facility will have a television and updated magazines for all patients to use who are in the waiting room. It is important that all the staff in each department know if other employees need help in the department. What I mean by this is that there will be a central location within a department. In the central location there will be desk with information and supplies that are needed. In addition, there will be a MDI board that is visible to all the staff. The MDI board is important for the staff to know how they are doing throughout the day, who is up for another patient, and who needs help with theirs. Also, a leadership meeting will take place every morning at this location to get the staff ready for the day. Since there is a central location, the rooms with equipment and patients will be extended off the central location. Making it all in one area will help with patient and employee satisfaction.
