Greene County Superintends and Legislator Meeting:
• Majority of superintends oppose new tests suggested in the new budget because:
- In addition to the tests required by the federal and state regulations, schools have internal pre-requisite screening and tests for certain class. Students take up to 30 tests already.
- Parents and students are tired and complaining about excessive testing
- Tests are proven to be ineffective instead creativity, problem solving, and acquiring soft skills should be encouraged
• Superintends find the top-down approach to education ineffective. They strongly support school districts to make such decisions on their own.

The same amount of resources are necessary for classes consist of 5 students or 25.
• Superintends suggest the PAX program to be supported and extended. It has generated drastic positive changes in reduction of drug use among other things.

Meeting with Nadine Daughtry and Dr. Matthew Spowl:
• The new budget does not include an increase in funding for the Greene County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
• Employees who help people with physical and intellectual disabilities had only 50 cents increase in wages for the past couple of years.
