While many of these heroes have been alive on the pages of comics for decades, the recent progression of more racially and gender diverse characters on screen have shed light on the evolution of a superhero and the complexity of their roles in society.

However for so long within the mainstream view, the motion picture portrayal of these heroes have been coming from an all too familiar mold: powerful and wealthy white males. But as we mentioned previously, these stories are constantly evolving. Most recently, the cultural zeitgeist has shifted upon the debut motion pictures of Wonder Woman and Black Panther, both of which have inspired cultural unity and diversity within communities.
With the progressive social trends that had taken over the conversation recently, minorities want to see themselves more in the media and in more accurate portrayal.
