Supergirl Cofer Analysis

Is a person really stuck with the hand they are given? This story is so much more than a girl having to face adult situations. There is always a way to escape from your situation, even if you use your imagination to get there. Cofer in the story has a very creative way to leave her circumstances, she turns into to “Supergirl”! People sometimes wish there was a way to escape, even just for a moment. Sometimes when the everyday struggles get to me, I just close my eyes and wish that I could just fly away. Just to get away to escape and be able to think about something else. Someplace else to forget about the problems and issues. This is also a reason why people go on vacations or go to therapy. There are different ways to just get away. In the story the Cofer handles her situation at home with her parent’s financial obligations by “dreaming/flying”. I can see her inner wishes and thoughts about her situation. I can see that she desired to have to the power to change things between her parents and the landlord. Also, as a parent with responsibilities parents have to make do with their current situation and sometimes the children see what is happening. …show more content…
I also try to teach my kids that it is important to work for the things they want and know that it may be rewarded at the end. There are money hungry people in the world, like the landlord and that is all they think about and are not always very happy people. Or there is something that people don’t see about those people? People never know about individuals that might seem angry all the time. They could be hurting or have some sort of underlying issue that they keep hidden from the outside
