When Alex Danvers came home from the mission that day, she was utterly broken. The mission was supposed to be recon, to observe and report, but it hadn’t ended that way.

Supergirl was dark out of mission necessity, dealing with the likes of Cadmus elsewhere, their mutants threatening the city as a distraction. However, the DEO was hot on the trail of Lillian Luthor and the bomb her and her cohorts were building.

Alex had volunteered to take point to stake out the warehouse, believed to be the central location of Luthor and her evil scientists. J’onn ordered them home for some rest and to be back at the base at 2:35 AM to gear up for the mission in the wee hours of the morning, when security would be lessened.

Maggie and Alex were in bed after a full meal and a drink, before Alex had to check into the DEO for duty. It was almost two in the morning and Alex had to leave their apartment at 2:30 to be in time for departure.
