With the introduction of choice of Superannuation DFES needs to contract a clearing house to transfer the employee superannuation deductions to multiple Superannuation providers.

The process of selecting a clearing house commenced by checking what needed to be done to obtain the services of a clearing house, Finance was approached and the recommendation was . for Payroll to approach Government Employees Superannuation Benefit Scheme (GESB) as they already offer their free clearing house services to other Government Agencies. The account key Managers where approached and their responses have been - the free clearing house services could not be offered due to GESB not being Fire and Emergency Services default Superannuation fund.
