Sparkling white snow, frozen lakes, skis, ice skates, snowmobiles, sleds, and so on. You betcha we have everything. Don’t cha know, we’re Minnesotans! The organizers of the 2018 Super Bowl have gladly embraced many Minnesotan stereotypes in order to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase everything great about Minnesota. They want to excite guests about all aspects of Minnesotan culture by portraying Minnesotans in a positive light and showing them all the possible activities they can be a part of. On the Minneapolis Super Bowl website, the Super bowl organizers reassure visitors that all their needs are taken care of. “Wonder if you have the right winter gear? Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you do. Concerned about how to get around downtown? Don’t stress, it’s easy.” With the use of this friendly and positive tone, it seems like the hosts are playing the typical “Minnesota Nice” role. In addition to this, the organizers want to attract people from out of state by creating a joyful atmosphere. This is why the Super Bowl welcome videos feature clip after clip of people smiling and laughing while they enjoy the food, music, and top tourist attractions of Minnesota. …show more content…
The Super Bowl's slogan, "Bold North", reflects our fearless attitude about the cold. Articles make claims such as "Yes, it's cold here. Get over it.” and “We think 40 degrees is a heat wave” in order to show that don’t just face the cold, we welcome it. The Super Bowl hosts make clear their desire for newcomers to explore the outdoors and stay active by showing videos of Minnesotans dressed in full winter gear, cross-country skiing, tubing, ice skating, snowboarding, playing hockey, ice fishing, polar plunging, and more. By doing this, the host committee hopes to show people that is no end to what they can do here, so they’ll never be
