Super Bowl commercials have become as much of the big game day experience as the game itself. From Budweiser to Ford to Doritos, the anticipation of how products will be rolled out during the Super Bowl is talked about for weeks before the game and even afterwards. All of America seems to be talking about and looking forward to seeing what appears on our television screen during those few short minutes in between the intense battle of the two opposing teams. It is sort of the Academy Award celebration for television commercials.On February 5th, 2012 during the Super Bowl between the New York Giants and New England Patriots a new type of commercial premiered. It was as much social innovation as it was a stirring up of American pride. Motor City, otherwise known as Detroit, Michigan, experienced a downfall when Chrysler and Ford went bankrupt in the year 2009. Over the span of the next three years, the country faced the biggest decline in unemployment, and economic and social aspects. The Chrysler company realized that maybe their downfall was similar to the tough economic times that so many other people were experiencing at the time. There certainly are degrees of difficulty of such circumstances. For example, a financial decline, sudden death of a family member, or even as simple as a bad grade on a final exam all bring about some level of adversity. Unexpected or expected difficulties carry with them the same characteristics of uncertainty, doubt, and perhaps even sadness. Consequently, these troubles most often shake our confidence to the core and can leave us insecure and unable to make clear decisions.
