Sunshine Coast University Essay

The University of the Sunshine Coast was opened as Sunshine Coast College in 1996. The university was renamed in 1999 as University of the Sunshine Coast. It is based in Sunshine Coast region located about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane the capital city of Queensland. Sippy Downs is the main campus of the university but we can also find teaching facilities in Noosa and a research facility on Fraser Island. Sippy Downs is a flora and fauna reserve and is bordered by Mooloolah River National Park and Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens. Many beautiful lakes can be enjoyed and accessed by bike or walk. Mooloolaba sea side is 10 minutes’ drive from Sippy Downs.

The University of the Sunshine Coast has a very good reputation and I believe that studying this course will complete my studies and will provide me a specialisation recognised all around the world.

The United Kingdom economy is strong and is a very high demand for social workers. The course will help me to start working as a Social Worker and the jobs opportunities are excellent.

A current degree will make me more employable on a very competitive job market. Moreover the 1000 hours of practical experience offered as part of the Master of Social Work degree will have high value for me as I have never worked before as a Social Worker. Once specialized in Australia as a Social Worker I look forward to start working as a Social Worker in United Kingdom. The salary for a qualified social worker in United Kingdom can range from £35.000 to £45.000 per year.

Australian social work degrees are very well respected and recognised all around the world. The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is a challenging course and I strongly believe that will provide me with the latest developments and intervention techniques in social
