Sitting down to discuss her new venture to get in the holiday spirit, Danica McKellar talks about “My Christmas Dream” and her love of Math.

Danica McKellar is a television actress notable for her character as Winnie Cooper in “The Wonder Years.” She also made guest and repeat appearances in various shows and sitcoms such as “The Wes Wing,” “Babylong 5,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “NCIS,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” and more.

Now, she embarks on a new show just for the holiday season. In an interview with Smashing Interviews, she talks about how excited she is for the show. However, many do not know that aside from her television appearances, she is also a degree holder.

She currently holds a degree in Mathematics from UCLA. She graduated as a summa cum laude and has been recognized in the Journal of Physics for her work in Mathematics. She has co-written a physics theorem and it is even named after her. It is called the “Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem.”

Aside from being a successful actress on television, she wanted to make sure that she has another identity outside the industry. And for her, that is math. She details her work in writing math books as a mission to tell young girls to be proud of their intelligence. McKellar adds that actors always struggle with self-worth in the early years. She hopes to see more girls interested in Math and Science.

Danica McKellar’s work in the Hallmark Channel this year is titled “My Christmas Dream.” And it is set to premiere this Saturday, November 19, 2016. She describes the experience working on the movie as a romantic comedy with Christmas magic.
