Sunflower County High School: Case Study

As a concerned father, citizen and taxpayer of Sunflower County, I am deeply moved by what is currently transpiring in the Sunflower County Consolidated School District (SCCSD).
In recent days, I have contacted the school district repeatedly trying relentlessly to reach newly appointed Superintendent Miskia Davis in hopes of possibly having an opportunity to speak with her regarding certain concerns that have recently developed or are currently developing even now.
These grave concerns not only upset me as a PARENT but more so as a FATHER!
Be it disturbing accusations or not, I honestly feel that the public has a right to know who’s being brought into our public school system. Especially when it involves the safety of our children.

“What A Disgrace!”

According to district personnel, Lakes, along with recently indicted former administrator Lorita Harris were both interviewed by Supt. Davis for jobs in the SCCSD. This is a woman who has PUBLICLY been identified as a known SEXUAL PREDATOR! One who takes advantage of naïve young GIRLS!
Though the school district has changed ‘NAMES’ in the last few years, I’m sure many other {CONCERNED!} parents (in the Drew, Ruleville area) can vividly recall an incident whereas sexual accusations where brought against Coach Lakes in 2006…that were alleged to have occurred while students where on a senior trip.
In 2004-2006, Errick Lakes is known to have coached the Ruleville Central Tigers. At the end of that particular school term, Lakes abruptly disappeared from the area because of the rumored accusations.
Now, after time has passed and the talk has simmered…he actually THINKS he can just waltz back in and nothing be said!
“NOT-SO!”
For the last past week, I have been unable to get honest, out-right answers, but I’m sure of one thing:
