Summit Academy Reflection

In the past four years, I have had many experiences with family, friends and an extreme amount of clubs and activities I am involved in. But in all honesty sports have taught me a lot about people, life and even myself. I have been a part of many teams in my lifetime and played several different sports. But at Summit Academy High School the sports are very unique. There are different attitudes towards the teams, players and coaches. But I’d like to call them obstacles. As an athlete, I have never been afraid of a challenge. I have always been able to go at my problems head-on; this is also something I learned from Summit Academy and will definitely help in my next step into the real world.

The very first sport I was a part of was varsity

To Play or Not To Play???“Put Me in Coach” When people reminisce about their high school years, fond memories of being at the height of fitness, spending countless hours with teammates, and playing in the “Big Game” are often treasured. However, some students at St. Anthony High School are choosing not to be involved in the athletic program for social and academic reasons. As a result, many are missing out on one of the most important aspects of their high school career. Although some believe that participation in high school athletics is a roadblock towards academic success and a satisfying social life, students should play at least one sport throughout high school because they will develop critical life skills and increase their physical…

Have you noticed that Physical Education seems to be a narrowing field? I strongly believe that there is a reason we need to keep PE in schools and in society today. Unfortunately, I feel as though many of the educators and teachers today aren’t taking it seriously. They aren’t doing enough to help the students become physically active, instead, the teachers just sit there because it is a job to them, nothing more. If the teachers had a better personal philosophy on what they actually want to teach, then I feel like PE would be a much stronger field and everyone would want it around.…

I am currently a senior in the Helms School of Government at Liberty University. I found out about your Global Internship Program through Dr. Cox who teaches my Corrections class. After doing research on your website I was very impressed. Being able to practice the skills that I have learned over the years such as government relations and disaster response, while implementing my Christian worldview in serving others would be an amazing experience. I would be a great addition to your team because of my past experience with serving on mission’s trips, living in a foreign country for a year and a half, and being on Liberty University’s student leadership team.…

In Jr. High, I excelled in sports playing basketball in the fall, volleyball in the winter, and track and field during the spring. I knew that playing sports in high school would take up a lot of time, and push me to my limits. After thinking for awhile, I decided that I was up for the challenge. The decision to play sports was definitely the right choice to make.…

As I came to college, my family and I anticipated I would be following a simple mold of a conscientious student. One that is highly focused in some limited number of long term goals. Don 't get me wrong, this only meant that I had high expectations out of my college education. For some people, this path leads them to great success. But, I slowly realized my vision of success needed to have stories from different roads and bridges, than just one simple path.…

It showed me how desperately I desire to succeed. After five years of participating in volleyball, I still had no idea what success looked like for me in that sport, so senior year I joined the diving team instead.…

As our course went on and I started to understand business some more I then realized why there were certain things that were shaping my views about my jobs. One big thing that I noticed was the team work at my jobs.…

English 219 was my first college level English course, and through attending and completing all of the assignments I have learned many skills that I believe will greatly help me in my future courses in college. Next semester I am enrolled in English 220, and after having taken this course I feel substantially better about continuing on with English courses at a college level. It has helped me to become more confident in my writing skills and provided me with an excellent basis for me to continue on with next semester, and throughout the rest of my schooling experience. Throughout this class I have learned many things, but perhaps the most important is the steps to writing an essay, and the planning options.…

In my reflects pertaining to the various writing experiences throughout my life, I have realized how much I have learned and still need to learn or be mindful of. Although I entered the workforce after high school and did not continue to enhance my writing skills in an educational setting, I continued to acquire a multitude of skills in the workplace. I acknowledge that throughout the years my ability to recall what I had learned in high school was lacking in my writing. Needless to say, the necessity to participate in English 103 is great. The type of writing that is consistent in my line of work is detailed, factual of events occurred, and services rendered for case management purposes.…
