For my observation I went to a house party in town on Saturday night. It was a tightly packed house, meaning there were little rooms and a lot of people. The tight quarters in the house forces people to interact with one another. In order to move from one end of the house to the other some interaction had to take place. The party was slow until about 11 p.m. when a huge swarm of people started showing up. Some walking into the house while others were stumbling or getting to that point of intoxication. The party had a wide range of people who were attending. The range of people included many different micro systems like football players, volleyball players, & nursing students. Some people were there just to socialize, or to be the driver for the students who can’t drive. The interactions most noticeable were the physical interactions of people hugging or shaking hands with people they know or are just meeting. Like the student who was in the corner trying to get a girls number. He opened with how are you I am …..,, and then shook this girls hand and asked her for her number. The sense of touch of him shaking her hand seemed to do the trick as she probably comes from a cultural background where that is considered to be gentleman like. There are groups who stick out way more in there interaction then others at the party. Some groups are screaming at each other, while the other groups are either quietly talking or not talking much at all. There is always that one guy who is supper shy in the corner who doesn’t like to engage with others first. This was one of my main focuses was to see if he would ever come outside of his comfort zone and start conversations with someone new but he never did. I think he is just not the kid that likes to talk, in normal situations he doesn’t talk much either. I am assuming that this individual is from a country/homeschooled household due to his antisocial tendencies.
The pattern I noticed most with behavior was influenced by the amount of alcohol consumed by people. Most people began to become more relaxed and
