Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, a for-profit hospital founded in 1997, is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, and was developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation. It is located at 657 Town Center Drive, in Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of America’s fastest growing healthcare communities, providing a comprehensive range of specialties to Las Vegas and its surrounding communities (About The Hospital, 2016).

Having recently completed the largest expansion projects in its history, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center now includes pediatric care services to their Pediatric Care Unit (PCU), advanced cardiac and surgical procedures such as open heart and robotic surgery services. The expansion also included the addition of a six-story tower that contains 173 additional private patient rooms, an expanded emergency room and pediatric emergency room. Remote access to the UHS FUSION/Cerner Millennium Application Portal is available with the use of Citrix Web-Plugin once the user requests access through the Information Technology department. All passwords created to access the portal, which expires every 90 days, must be strong passwords in order maintain secure and protection from unauthorized access, as well as confidentiality.
