In addition to enjoying my time of school, during the first few weeks of summer vacation the summer assignments were sent in along with the names of what teachers and classes you will have. At first I was thinking to myself, who are these teachers and what do they teach in the class called Inquiry Skills. I thought it was a class that was kind of like psychology but in a more basic level ( boy was I wrong.) All things considered, my first obstacle came when I saw the quantity of work I had to accomplish in other to prepare myself for the upcoming school year. Writing an essay on the book named Anthem for English was unbearable for the fact I never understood the book, answering a multitude of questions for the Greek story called the Iliad was…

During the first semester in my freshman year in high school, I never knew school club’s existed. All I knew was how to get to school and get as much experience as I could and return home. I did not have anybody telling me to join any school clubs or get good grades because I did not have an older brother or sister like other kids do. It was a terrible feeling of not having someone who can talk to you or inspire you to participate in school clubs but that all changed when second semester arrived. When second semester arrived, I made some friends, friends who tell me to join school clubs so my resume can look as good as a professional.…

What I did not realize, was that summer classes move along much more swiftly than the regular semester. Additionally, I did not anticipate the amount of required reading and paper writing needed for each class. I had been out of school for nearly 25+ years, and I did not know how to use MS-Office correctly when writing a paper, thus I was off to a rough start. Therefore, if one is planning to return to school, meeting with an academic or advisement counselor is a good idea. I did not do this, I had done all of this online without ever meeting with someone who would advise me on how to the process works.…
