In the article titled, “A Tale of Two Summers for Parents”, Belinda Luscombe demonstrates her way of keeping adult supervision on her kids. She doesn’t not do the supervision herself, instead she pays people to watch over her kids so that she doesn’t have to and could work. She also details that there are other parents out there that don’t supervise their kids and leave them alone. She believes kids shouldn’t be required to have adult supervision, from what I can understand. I believe that elementary-school-age children should require adult supervision outside of school.…

Choosing Your Consequences Eleanor Roosevelt once stated, “One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.” The book That Summer by Sarah Dessen is a realistic fiction story about fifteen-year-old Haven who has one summer that changes her life. A dry January afternoon heated the milk pan in a nearby tea stall. Its owner, an old man in his sixties, looked on at the woman walking by with his lips pressed to the stained tea glass. Her hair resembled stiff analogue signals, and her tiny feet called to mind two silent bells constantly in a battle. The city council had declared a holiday due to the scorching heat waves that were being carried from the West.…
