Significantly, how do you eliminate entire sections of a class when you have not met with the student or have not assessed his work or work habits? Most importantly, this year we informed the counselors and the Special Education Lead at Serrano that students on IEP's needed to set up meeting to look at the independent component of the Summer Session because the courses would be difficult. We will not take out content that we do not know if they can or cannot work through. This is why we emphasize of getting into the lab if the student is struggling. We want to see what the student is struggling with and then modify accordingly. Realistically, we are not going to be able to suppress a whole semester into 5 weeks. We can teach specific concepts that the student does not understand in small portions.
