1.Alignment
Operation DEEP’s Teaching Summer Institute program allows Cornell students like myself to reach people in rural China. I will have the opportunity to inspire the children of the rural areas in China by working together with the community’s teachers to improve their education. In turn, this experience will enable me to engage in cross cultural exchange, exercise my skill with working with and befriending people with different backgrounds than myself, and ultimately contribute to the diversity at Cornell by gaining this priceless experience in rural China.

2.Community Impact
Rural China has significantly more limited resources to education in comparison to urban China, and entering high level education in China is extremely more selective and discriminative towards students in non-urban areas, making higher

In turn, I will gain cultural experience of living in a foreign country and immersing in rural Chinese culture. I will ensure to share my priceless experience with friends, families, and peers. I aim to increase awareness of the education situation in rural China as well as inspire other students to commit to this program in the future. With other Cornell students, I will express the lessons I learned from the unique experience of living in rural China and explain why this program allows personal growth as well as improvement of the future of rural China. This will be done through word of mouth as well as social media postings on my personal Facebook. As an online artist figure, I will also share my experience through my public Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and DeviantArt. Through these sites I have a global following, numbered in the thousands, who can be inspired by my time in rural China this coming summer. Furthermore, if I am selected by the ELR program, I can share my experience through ELR communications and at the annual Community Engagement
