Introduction
There are many children throughout the world who are living healthy lifestyles, with access to food, water, medical care, and many of the other necessities to a healthy life, but many more children are struggling, as they don’t have nearly as most of the westernized world do. Many times, families going through poverty do not know of either local, national, or international community organizations that can assist them with their battles. Fortunately, there are many individuals worldwide who realize what these people are going through, and try to help those in need. It started in 1979, founded by Larry Jones, an American reverend. (sharylattkisson.com) This organization has many financial supporters, like Telus and Scotiabank. (feedthechildren.org) Feed the Children currently has several offices around the world, with it’s head office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. (feedthechildren.org) Also, the Canadian branch of this organization is actually in Toronto. Feed the Children helps children suffering through poverty by providing them with hope, along with resources such as food, water, shelter, and many other necessities that they may not have access to. (feedthechildren.org) Founder Larry Jones aspired to provide children with the basic necessities (food, water, shelter, etc.) because when he was younger (he is currently in his early sixties) he witnessed how dreadful life is not only in a lot of third-world countries, but even in Canada and the USA where others are below the poverty line. (feedthechildren.org) Hence, Jones decided to start Feed the Children, to aid children who have the misfortune of living in poverty. (feedthechildren.org) To date, his efforts have helped over 3.5 million children have access to food, water, and shelter (2014). (feedthechildren.org) Children who are privileged with being taken care of by Feed the Children are immensely fortunate, because it basically gives them what anyone suffering through poverty needs: water, food, and shelter. As you can see, there are countless organizations that provide children in poverty with the resources to get them through their tough
