This Week Journal Stanley
This week lecture, presentation was interesting. It is because it one of the things that I have been battling with most of my life. Having a guest speaker walking into the classroom to talk about the same topic titled “Time Management” that I never have answer to all of my life really amaze me.
Paying active attention to the presenter really changed my perspective about how I view things, especially when her introduction was a song from “Mission Impossible” movie. That alone was outrageous because of how I was feeling about things that was never impossible for me to attain.
Well, my response to that topic was soundless, why is because I know the fact that the topic was actually talking to me; because I procrastinate

Throughout these chapters, the author analyzes broad aspects that are essential to presidential elections as well as political parties. In chapter five, she explains the distinct views by the two major political parties during the Vietnam War and through other events and factors such as communism, the civil rights movement and other issues.…

Lindsay Roach Response Journals 5.3 Response 1: The Family of Little feet seemed insignificant at first because Esperanza talked about “Plump little feet”. At first this made no sense to the reader because she was talking about shoes and plump feet. But as this vignette goes on it was important to the characters because it was one of Lucy’s defining moments on her trip through life and an experience with a guy. Although the girls “Were glad the shoes were gone”, it was important for them to experience a lesson of how the real world really is in their neck of the woods.…

The first journal that caught my attention and fit the category of “a personal response to a theme/topic in the novel” was providing a narrative which exemplifies my relationship with my best friend: the fourth journal entry. The reason why I chose this specific journal is because it really tackled the personal experience I once had with my former relationship and how it tied in with knowledge and beliefs. My interpersonal relationship with my former best friend resembled a certain situation that the characters in the book discussed; in both instances, both of us changed our views on seeing the advantages and disadvantages of a problem and seeing what consequences come with each side. Being in a relationship is a gateway to learning new things…

Hi Eunice, I think you made a valid point on your post regarding Archie’s likely to have a negative perception about the Evans’. I think part of the problem is that Archie see the world in a different lens as opposed to most folks. Back then, racism was considered the norms, and it was not usual for white folks to see themselves as superior than blacks’.…

Using the preparation exercise in Week 1, critically reflect on the issue you brought to the group in the light of what you have studied in further chapters. One of the most pressing moral issues facing the world today is the blatant inequality between developed and third world nations. It is shameful that as professing Christians we sit idly by and watch our fellow human beings languish in squalor and unclean conditions while we sit in our cozy three bedroom houses, two car garage and have annual vacations to sunny destinations. How can we self reflect on our behavior to improve our actions to show God’s love to our fellow human beings in our homes, work places and communities?…

I truly enjoyed watching the documentary about Mary Pickford. Something that interested me was the fact that the public expected Mary to be like she was in the films. I believe this is something that still applies today, which is why some movie or TV stars are careful about their public image. However, I think they should not be the ones to change; spectators should understand and respect the fact that actors will behave differently in real life. Besides this, the documentary touched the subject of fans and their loyalty.…

Through the progression of this course, various aspects of history were viewed, in addition to concepts that are still associated to the lives of Aboriginal peoples today. While carrying some previous, biased knowledge on the topics discussed, First Nations Studies allowed the development of many ideas as well as the differing perspectives on each. Via the use of assorted reading selections, tutorial discussions, guest speakers, lectures, and a variety of other forms, I was able to take away a unique understanding, different to the one I had prior, which in turn educated me on Indigenous communities. This course attempted to bypass the anger that has been accumulated over the years, and portray information in order to avoid further issues…
